ALINEA -- WINNER: JAMES BEARD AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING RESTAURANT

Alinea, Chicago won the James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurant. The James Beard Foundation mission is to celebrate, nurture, and honor America's diverse culinary heritage.  “Milk Chocolate, Pate Sucree, Violet, & Hazelnut,” a dramatic Alinea dessert is shown above.

Ohhhhh... this cake makes us swoon. Apparently this Lemon Meringue, by heinstirred did the same for members of the Food52 Community, who voted it as a winner in their “Your Best Recipe with Egg Whites” Recipe Contest.
