10 BEAUTIFUL BOWLS OF REFLECTIONS
We’ve gathered a range of beautiful bowls that offer beautiful reflections of their contents and their surroundings. Some are contemporary, some vintage, and some are antique pieces. They all can add exquisite gleam and glamour to your table.
1. WELLE FRUIT BOWL
The Welle Fruit Bowl reflects waves of light and shadow. Designed by Sam Leung, it is made of highly polished stainless steel.
2. OCEAN CORAL BOWL
Designer Michael Aram is inspired by natural forms. He often combines mirror finishes with organic textures. Take his Ocean Coral Serving bowl, for example. The large reflective bowl sits atop knobby coral branches to serve up salads or even a mess of steamers. Made of nickel-plated stainless steel.
3. SPLASH BOWL
Carla and James are two artists who formed the Regina Andrew design company. Their splash bowl is genius. It’s drippy edge creates beautiful reflections of whatever treasures it holds.
4. BLOOM BOWL
Design house Georg Jensen is known for sleek, minimal, elegant shapes. Bloom Bowl, designed by Helle Damkjaer, is one piece in the sensual Bloom line of tabletop pieces. Made of mirror polished stainless steel.
5. MICHAEL LAX BOWL
Designer Michael Lax produced this large polished steel bowl in the 1980’s. Hard to believe it’s vintage already, but… in any case, it can add a cool contemporary reflective vibe to your 2014 setting.
Available now at 1st Dibs.
6. TOMMI PARZINGER BOWL
This beautiful footed bowl by Tommi Parzinger, designed for Doryln Silversmiths is another gorgeous vintage piece that rocks beautiful reflections. Made in the 1950s of polished brass with a starburst design in it’s center, it would look great reflecting a pile of golden apples, or if your golden goose is laying… you’re all set.
7. JOHN RICHARD BOWL
This beautiful highly polished aluminum bowl sits on a gold branch and makes a perfect receptacle for your trinkets. Designed by John Richard.
8. CURL BOWL
This swirling bowl is handmade from highly polished, reflective recycled aluminum. It is part of a collection of swirl inspired bowls, pitchers, candy dishes, and other table top accessories.
9. HUNGARIAN ARTS & CRAFTS BOWL
This bowl is a beautiful antique find. A Hungarian piece of Repousse design, circa 1900, would make a stunning addition to your silver collection. Its reflections are tempered by its hammered finish.
The "Dianakopf" hallmark is stamped on the front, in the bowl. It has been lightly hand polished on top to reveal the excellent condition of the silver and amazing repousse work throughout.
10. MONUMENTAL MEXICAN CENTERPIECE BOWL
This polished sterling silver bowl, signed by the artist, C. Zurita, is a breathtaking piece of sculpture. Circa 1940.
Available at 1st Dibs.
