LEAVES CHANGE US
The green leaves of spring and summer kept us fresh and cool for months. Now, as they flash yellow, orange, and red, as they change, they change us too. Especially when we get outside and get close to them.
Autumn leaves are all about contrast to both past and future. Their bright colors often contrast with each other. They send signals to our brains that change is in the air.
Take a walk down a country lane or hike through a forest, and the leaves will no doubt relieve some stress. Instead of focusing on your stressors, you can focus on the beauty. If you pay close attention to the subtleties and nuances, it can be meditative.
Channel your inner child and jump in a pile of autumn leaves, and connect with some early memories.
Autumn colored landscapes are humbling. As are the last few leaves that finally give way to winter.
