CHILL TIME INSPIRATION

Photo montage illustration showing a man climbing a ladder to change the time on an old fashioned clock.

As one year ends and face the beginning of another, we feel the preciousness of time. We feel its limits. We feel its importance. We feel it’s possibilities. And we crave more beautiful moments.

We all wish we had more time for the people, experiences and things we love. We all wish we managed time better. We all wish we had the power to speed through some times and to slow down other times.

The space time continuum expands of view of time as we look up and watch the stars slide across the universe. Songs from our past remind us of times, both happy and sad. From old classics like “As Time Goes By,” from Casablanca, to newer songs from Stephen Sondheim’s lyrics for West Side Story, Van Morrison, and REO Speedwagon, time ticks through our minds as we listen. Picasso and Tennyson also weigh in.

We’ve gathered some meaning and memory from images and quotes, we curated them for beauty, and we’ve presented them below.

“There's a time for us,
Someday a time for us,
Time together with time to spare,
Time to learn, time to care,
Some day!”

-- Stephen Sondheim, “Somewhere,” from “West Side Story.”

“It's still the same old story
A fight for love and glory
A case of do or die.
The world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by.”

-- Herman Hupfeld, “As Time Goes By,” from “Casablanca.”
