SALT FLAT MIRROR
SALAR DE UYUNI, BOLIVIA
Is this Jeep levitating? Perhaps the people inside are feeling high on the beauty of this place, but in actuality they are sitting, in a mirror reflection.
This unique and glassy expanse of land is part of Bolivia’s Salar de Uyini, the globe’s largest salt desert. It offers smooth, unadulterated reflections of the sky during the rainy season.

ENCHANTED CITY
The “Enchanted City,” as Spain’s Ciudad Encantada Cuenca is known, is comprised of a cluster of gargantuan magic mushroom-shaped rock formations, that tower over nearby trees. Created by a wizard perhaps?

Like the Red Sea, the crimson beaches in Dawa, China, inspire supernatural stories, which may or may not be true. One explanation for these blood-red sands is that they are the result of Chenopodiaceae, a type of flowering plant, that turns red in autumn.
Of course, who knows what magic spirit planted the flowers there??

SUA OCEAN TRENCH
Swimming underground is a magical experience. No like. Here, at the Sua Ocean Trench, in Upolu, Samoa, the ground collapsed after being impacted by volcanoes as they spew massive streams of lava over underground sea water canals.
This giant sink hole makes an enchanting swimming hole, wreathed in lush tropical fairy fringes of beautiful South Pacific flora.

FAIRY GLEN
The Isle of Skye, one of the Hebrides islands off of western Scotland, is full of magical spots. The amazing landscape rolls with grassy knolls, charismatic hillsides, hidden hollows, illusory rock formations, and magic castles. It’s all just perfect for fairies.
With places and features like the Faerie Glen, Fairy Pools, Fairy Flag, Fairy Bridge, Fairy Knoll, you are bound to connect with some beautiful magic here.

At the Fairy Knoll, for example, as legend tells us, a fiddler playing music for a fairy party one night, discovered that 100 years had passed since the party started. Locals say that music can still be heard coming from the knoll.

SEA OF STARS
Abracadabra, stars are skinny dipping… No, it’s not the sky reflecting in the sea. The beaches on Vaadhoo Island in the Maldives sparkle with bioluminescent marine microbes.

Magical lights twinkle inside the Waitomo Caves in New Zealand. Although science can explain it away, citing the shine comes from the tiny glowworms that live in the cave, it is otherworldly never-the-less. The cave ceiling at Glowworm Grotto becomes “starry sky.”

Are vortexes magic places? Science explains vortexes as forces in a whirl, like a whirlpool or twister. Many people believe that when land forms a vortex, it offers special healing powers.
Sedona, Arizona has seven vortexes, like the Boynton Canyon Vortex above, that have served as mystical sacred ground for Native Americans for thousands of years. Today, you might tap into this magical energy yourself. The red rocks, alone, are enough to send you into another spiritual realm.
