10 PLACES FOR THE BEST CHILL WEATHER NOW

What is the “best” weather? It depends, of course, on what you’re doing. But if you just want to hang out and relax, the most comfortable weather is clear, at around 50% humidity, with temperatures no more than 15 degrees above or below 68°F.

1. SASSARI, SARDINIA -- ITALY

Located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, in northern Sardinia, Italy, Sassari is considered to be one of most beautiful places in the world with the most comfortable weather. The average daily high temperature in Sassari is 66.4°F and its average daily low is 53°F. August, the warmest month, sees an average daily high temperature of 82°F and a mean nighttime low of 66°F.

Sassari’s many pristine beaches edge its crystal-clear waters.

2. NORTHWESTERN COAST -- MOROCCO

The northwestern coast of Morocco has near perfect weather for lounging. It generally stays within a moderate range of temperature year round, as governed in tandem by the cold currents of the Atlantic Ocean and the intense Mediterranean sun.

Enjoy it all at the beautiful beach and resorts of Tangier, Moulay Bousselham, and Asilah.

3. LAS PALMAS -- GRAN CANARIA, CANARY ISLANDS

Las Palmas just might have the kindest weather on the planet. With an annual daily mean temperature of 69.3 °F, little wind, exceptionally clear air, and plentiful sunlight, the place is nothing short of a total joy to experience.

Hang out on the city’s two beautiful beaches, Playa de las Canteras and Playa de las Alcaravaneras.

Las Palmas is the largest city and capital of the Canary Islands, founded in 1478. Its district of Vegueta, the oldest quarter of the town, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Filled with lush beaches and constant sunlight, the Canary Islands are a great place for beautiful weather!

4. VINA DEL MAR -- CHILE

Lined with beautiful palm trees and expansive parks, Vina Del Mar, aka “Ciudad Jardín,” (City of Gardens), is renowned for its white, sandy beaches, sprawling parks, and absolutely gorgeous weather.

Situated on the central coast of Chile, Viña del Mar’s climate feels like that of the Mediterranean, with the coastal influence of the Humboldt Current, keeping the air between 59 °F (15 °C) and 75.2 °F.

5. COASTAL WESTERN CAPE -- SOUTH AFRICA

While it can get chilly at night in winter, the temperature here almost never goes below freezing. The average daily highs range from  63.5°F to 79.7°F.

The mountains of the Cape Peninsula form sheer cliffs that drop down to the Atlantic on the western side, while the eastern side is lapped by the turquoise Indian Ocean. This is a perfect place to hire a convertible for endless scenic drives and gorgeous views all year around.

6. ACADIA NATIONAL PARK -- MAINE, USA

The best time to visit Acadia National Park, in Maine, is between May and October to hit the temperature sweet spot.

From Bar Harbor, on Mount Desert Island, to Winter Harbor on the Schoodic Peninsula, you can hike the rocky coastline, enjoy the magnificent forests, feast on blueberries and lobster, and enjoy the very best of summer.

7. NOVA SCOTIA -- CANADA

If you don’t like heat, preferring a more refreshing summer, Nova Scotia is another great summertime option. With summer temperatures ranging from 55 °F to 71°F. Go for the chill beaches, the charming fishing villages, and the freshest seafood.

8. UPPER PENINSULA -- MICHIGAN, USA

Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is in the 54°F to 75°F summertime weather zone. It’s perfect for hiking through lush woodlands, or boating on the lakes during the day and perfect sleeping weather at night.

9. MALAGA -- SPAIN

Málaga has some of the nicest weather in the world during the summer. The best time to visit is around mid-summer, when temperatures are around 80°F, with little humidity. But even in winter, there is plenty of sunshine and mild days.

Malaga is also famous for being Picasso’s hometown. It is also a great place to soak up some history as you check out the influences of the Roman and Moorish empires that once ruled here.

Enjoy roaming the city’s outdoor markets, visiting its sandy beaches, or hiking the Caminito del Rey, a precarious air path built into the walls of the Gaitanes Gorge.  

10. KUNMING -- CHINA

While much of China has less than ideal weather during most of the year, one place, Kunming, is a weather dream city there. Its average summertime temperature is in the 70s, making it an ideal place for chilling out.

Kunming is also known as “City of Eternal Spring.” It sits at 6,000 feet above sea level and enjoys temperatures between 60 and 80 year round.

Check out the incredible Yunnan Stone Forest, one of the areas several unique natural landscapes,  --  a cluster of tall limestone spire formations that look like a forest of petrified trees. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
