Now you can sleep under the stars while you hang from a clear bubble suite suspended over 1300 feet above the ground.
Skylodge Adventure Suites, conceived and managed by adventure company Natura Vive, offers completely clear sleep capsules that hang high above the bottom of the Sacred Valley, in Peru.
You can climb the rock face or hike a thrilling trail and zip along a breathtaking zip-line network to get there.
You’ll see impressive panoramic views of the incredible valley below, full of natural wonders and archaeological ruins. There are two UNESCO World Heritage sites at either end: the former Imperial capital of Peru, Cusco, and the 15th century Inca citadel Machu Picchu.
At night, your view shifts upwards to see the always magnificent Milky Way.
If you want to experience the thrill and the view but don’t want to stay the night, SkyLodge offers a lunch-only, Peruvian gastronomic experience for day-trippers.
Transparent walls, ceiling and floor means you can see everything around you. It feels like you are floating in the air.
And while it is very dreamy once you’re inside, you have to work pretty hard to get there.
There are only 2 options:
You have to climb 1,312 ft to the top of Via Ferrata.
You have to hike and zip via a network of ziplines.
Once you are at the top of the mountain, safely inside your capsule, you have a clear almost 360° view of Sacred Valley.
There are only 3 capsules at Skylodge. They measure 24ft. x 8 ft. x 8 ft. Each can accommodate 8 people as each comes complete with 4 beds, a dining area, and a private bathroom. They are well ventilated with windows and air ducts. The parts of the suites that are not clear are hand crafted out of aerospace aluminum and weather resistant polycarbonate.
These beautifully clear suites are ecofriendly, with clear air and water in mind. They are lit with an alternative lighting system. A dry ecological toilet and sink keep things clean -- the bathroom bonus is a clear killer view out, and at an altitude of over 1000 ft, no one but perhaps a few flying condors is around to see in.
When you’re ready to lay back and look up at the starry sky, fine quality mattresses, outfitted with cotton sheets, down pillows, and quilts make sure your clear perch is comfy.
The Natura Vive team rounds out the experience with transportation, gourmet meals and professional bilingual guides that shepherd you through the Via Ferrata and thrilling zipline courses.
