It’s time to up your travel selfie game. Why settle for the same old shots of your face smiling back at the camera with your sightseeing conquests plainly retired to the background? We’ve curated some incredible and totally beautiful selfies for you that are certain to light a fire under your Beautiful Self...
MURAD OSMANN & NATALIA ZAKHAROVA
One of our favorite travel-based selfie series is Follow Me, created by Murad Osmann and Natalia Zakharova. It documents the couple’s travels around the world in the most unique (and beautiful) way.
The series began in 2011, when they were on vacation in Barcelona. Zakharova grew impatient with her photographer boyfriend, Osmann, as he was so busy taking photographs that he was missing the joy and beauty of their travel experience.
She took his hand and led him forward, pulling him into the experience, showing him the glory of what lay ahead. And as she did so, Osmann kept shooting. He posted his shots on Instagram and the pair never looked back.
The pair’s photo series went viral. They have attracted almost 2 million followers to date. It’s easy to see why. They pull you in, beckoning you to share their experience.
Osmann earned a degree in civil engineering before pursuing his photography and film career. He runs Hype, a tv and film production studio in Moscow. Zakharova is a journalist.
Now, for the first time ever, we get to see Zakharova’s face. We’re hoping the pair starts a new selfie series soon… not that we ever want Follow Me to stop!

ALEXANDER REMNEV
Perhaps the most daring travel-based selfies we’ve seen are the ones taken by Russian skywalker photographer Alexander Remnev and his thrill-seeking pals.
Most of Remnev’s super-high selfies are taken atop tall buildings in Moscow, but he has begun to branch out to other cities. And, no, they aren’t exactly legally done. But building guards have, so far, been happy to look the other way once they see what the daredevils are up to.
Check out Remnev’s selfies taken at the top of The Center, the fifth tallest skyscraper in Hong Kong. The building was featured in the movie, The Dark Knight. Perched 1,180 feet high above the ground, Remnev looks pretty fly.
Remnev has also taken selfies at the top of the world’s tallest residential building, the Princess Tower in Dubai, at 1,350 feet off the ground, as well as atop many other skyscrapers in this reach-for-the-sky city.
These extreme selfies come with unparalleled bragging rights. Not many of us would be brave enough to consider taking our own selfies in these places. But we are so glad Remnev does. The views are, of course breathtaking.
