1. WARDLEY HILL CAMPSITE

Wardley Hill Campsite, in the Waveney Valley, in Norfolk, England, is surrounded by wildflowers and grasses that are left to grow to encourage butterflies and bees.

One of two gorgeous Lotus Belle tents, a huge Family Emperor Bell Tent, a locally crafted Shepherds hut, a Hammock hut, or a suspended tree tent can be your home under the stars on the charming 6-acre woodland parcel.

Your beds will be supplied with 100% cotton sheets, pillowcases, and duvet covers. There’s a solar shower. You will enjoy your own firepit.

Le Camp offers 5-star luxury in the wild, right in the middle of the Aveyron Valley in the Midi-Pyrénées region of France. Set up camp in one of 3 safari-style tents, 2 woodland yurts, or one giant yurt, surrounded by magical forests and meadows.

The Bells of Hemscott is a pop-up glamping experience in a 20 acre seasonal  summer meadow on a farm, in Northumberland, UK. Once summer is over, the meadow is turned back into farmland.

There are 6 pre-erected tent and a shepherd’s hut, all cozily furnished. Proper showers and flushing toilets are available about a 5 minute walk away.

The Canvas Village is a ten minute flat stroll to the beach.  

History buff campers love Domaine de Pradines, located in the Parc National des Cévennes and Parc Régional des Grands Causses, a UNESCO World Heritage region.

The site dates back to Roman times, as evidenced by the  discovery of a 4th-century Roman coin found on the grounds. The site was once owned by a certain M. Cambacères, a key official in Napoléon’s government and was frequented by the Knights Templar.

Stay in a Turkmen yurts, a series of vaulted buildings that date back to the 13th century, or wooden chalets, all set on 370 mostly wild acres/150 hectares) .

Whitewater rafting through the nearby Tarn, Jonte, and Dourbie gorges is a beautiful thrill! Kayaking, paragliding are also available. Explore the forests, granite hills, and spectacular caves of the Cévennes.

Check out the charming town of Meyrueis. The nearby  Millau Viaduct, designed by Sir Norman Foster, is the highest bridge in the world.

You can go glamping near London at the Eco Camp UK at Wild Boar Wood and feel like you are a world away.

Nine bell tents are set within a 5 acre ancient bluebell wood in the heart of Sussex in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is surrounded by 35 acre field that is home to native birds, butterflies, deer, rabbit, hedgehogs and foxes, bordered by the River Ouse.

It’s a peaceful spot… that is until the historic Bluebell Railway locomotives thunder along at the edge of the woods… but it’s still charming, even then.

Glamp at Moor View and you will be regaled by seas of yellow buttercups and carpets of wild cow parsley, at the foot of the Mendip Hills, in Somerset, UK.

Luxury canvas bell tents are furnished with proper double beds with sprung mattresses, a wood burner with logs to keep it fuelled and an oversize lazy hammock. There’s also an excellent little outdoor kitchen, fully outfitted to turn out scrumptious dinners.

The charming village of Priddy is a short walk and the spectacular Cheddar Gorge and Glastonbury Tor are a short drive away.

Camp out at Broad Meadow House for fabulous views out to sea at Black Head, in Cornwall, UK. You can stay in the ’Posh Shed,’ the permanent tent, or bring your own shelter. Either way, you can get a delicious breakfast in bed, delivered straight to your tent each morning.

Watch for basking sharks and grey seals in the bay. Look up to find peregrine falcons, sparrowhawks and buzzards flying overhead. Telescopes and sea kayaks are available.

Cotna Eco Retreat is a peaceful spot within a gorgeous 10-acre organic farm, in Cornwall, UK. Stay in one of the yurts, a brookside shepherd’s hut, or a straw bale barn.

The farm supplies salad leaves to most of the local pubs and restaurants and grows a range of seasonal fruits and vegetables, including asparagus, aubergines, cucumbers and quince. Breakfast includes Cotna organic eggs, sourdough bread baked to order.

Camp out at the edge of Galloway Forest Park, Britain’s largest forest park (300 square miles), at Balloch O' Dee.

The Park is the only European designated Dark Skies forest, so you can see stars like you’ve never seen them before. Stay in a beautifully appointed Mongolian Yurt and ride a horse across the countryside to Culvennan Fell.

Top of the Woods offers a boutique glamping experience on a 27 acre Georgian farm, in beautiful Pembrokeshire, Wales.

It is adjacent to 325 acres of ancient woodland and the Pembrokeshire National Park, complete with wild beaches, castles, wildflower meadows, and wildlife.

Big open skies, secret waterfalls, and hidden gardens will enchant you.  Kunekune pigs and free-roaming chickens will keep you company.

Coastal Cabins are a bit of a misnomer because they are located in the middle of the North Devon countryside in southern England. But the seaside and cliff-top trails of the South West Coast Path aren’t far away.
