WATERFALLS MAKE CAMPING MORE BEAUTIFUL NOW

Waterfalls make camping trips even more beautiful. We like to sleep near them and hear their flow. We love to hike near them and jump in to cool off after a hot journey.

While many forests and woods have waterfalls to delight us, some places are cascading treasure troves.

Iceland’s waterfalls are epic! Giant, powerful, and prolific. Some are quite unusual, with basalt rocks. Dettifoss, Gullfoss, and Goðafoss are superwide.  

Iceland’s Glymur, Háifoss, and Hengifoss waterfalls are tall and narrow. Skógafoss and Svartifoss are full of rainbows. See more beautiful Iceland waterfalls here.

Eastern Europe has quite an impressive range of waterfalls. Kravice Waterfalls, in Bosnia-Herzegovina, is mini-Niagara, with 25m cascades.

Transylvania County, in North Carolina, boasts 250 spectacular waterfalls, all within close range to each other. Many are found in Pisgah National Forest, DuPont State Recreational Forest and Gorges State Park.

Check out the 400 foot drop of Whitewater Falls (highest falls east of the Rocky Mountains), and the picturesque Looking Glass Falls  and Sliding Rock. Tour operators such as Eastatoe Trail Tours,  Miller’s Land of Waterfalls Tours, Pisgah Field School, & Pura Vida Adventures, can make sure you see the most and the best.
