IURIE BELEGURSCHI -- ICELAND

While temperate zones are the best places to see autumn leaves in masses of bright color, Iceland, which sits north, in a polar zone, offers its own brand of leaf peeping beauty.

Award winning landscape photographer Iurie Belegurschi captures Iceland’s exotica with stunning drama. He finds autumn to be the best opportunity.

While Iceland is famous for its massive glaciers, especially starry nights and the elusive Aurora Borealis, its leaves do turn out their own tricks, and its vast open landscapes tinge with autumn color.

Born in Moldava, Belegurschi moved to Reykjavik in Iceland in 2006 to study tourism and hospitality, but photography won his heart. He soon became the leading photography guide and workshop instructor in Iceland.

Belegurschi offers a wonderful photo workshop: Iceland in Autumn which is one of the best ways to see the beauty of this country. This tour will focus on capturing some of Iceland’s finest sights when the conditions are at their best - in the golden light of autumn sunsets and sunrises.

The tour will be two world-leading photography instructors, who know all of the locations in detail, and have mastered the ins and outs of making the most of Iceland's beautiful landscapes.

The tour will take you to the rugged sights of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in West Iceland, the popular Golden Circle near the capital, and the breathtaking wonders of Iceland’s southern shores.

Europe’s biggest glaciers, wild ice and rock formations, dynamic coastlines, volcanic black sand beaches, and thunderous waterfalls, offer contrasts to changing foliage and grasses.

At the Golden Circle, the blue waterfall of Hraunfossar, a series of cascading falls, is particularly magnificent fringed with colorful autumn leaf displays, as is Gullfoss Falls.

You will be awestruck by the mountain peaks, glacial outlets and lagoons, mossy lava fields,  wild Icelandic horses and more… all as they brace for the coming winter.

Belegurschi’s works have been published worldwide. His two main passions in life are photography and traveling. He co-founded the hugely popular Guide To Iceland platform and is now expanding this to include other countries.
