BEAUTIFUL PLACES TO LOVE TOGETHER
A beautiful bed, an exotic landscape, a secluded private shelter from the storm -- all perfect places for Beautiful Love. So we set out to find 10 of the coolest most beautiful places to celebrate it.
We begin where life itself began, at the bottom of the sea. Imagine laying back and letting the watery world wash over you, with fantasy-like-but-real fish swimming right in front of you -- and overhead, with color-drenched coral and creatures so extraordinary, it’s a diver’s dream.
But you can live it at Poseidon Undersea Resort in Fiji. You won’t need your scuba gear. You can just lay back and watch it unfold from your super-luxe (and dry) suite. And you’ll dream about it long after you’re home on dry land.
The resort is located on 225 acres on Poseidon Mystery Island, surrounded by a 5,000-acre (7.8-square-mile) lagoon. You can dive to 90 feet (27.4 meters).
Just outside the lagoon the reef plunges into an abyss, which is perfect for your private jaunt in one of the resort’s deep submersibles. Or perhaps you’d prefer the Poseidon Triton submarine.
Just you and your lover snuggled up in a down sleeping bag inside a real snow igloo, in the middle of a vast Lapland wilderness in Saariselkä, Finland -- heaven.
At the Hotel Kakslauttanen & Igloo Village, you can opt to stay in a fireplace-equipped log cabin or in a domed “igloo” made of thermal glass. Plan your trip so you can watch the northern lights from wherever you sit.
For another cold on the outside warm on the inside love shack, check out the IgluLodge, an ice hotel in Southern Germany’s Allgäu Alps.
Beyond the natural beauty of the mountains, which rise up almost 2000 meters to kiss the icy blue sky, the ice architecture and artworks here are truly spectacular.
The hotel is rebuilt each winter season. Every year it is decorated in ice sculptures that follow a specific theme. This year’s theme is “Wild Wild West.”
What could be cozier than cuddling together in a beautifully furnished underground cave? And what could be cooler than one inside a Swedish silver mine?
155 meters deep, where the sun don’t shine, the Mine Suite at the Sala Silver Mine awaits you.
For over 400 years, Sala was Sweden’s premiere silver-producing location, before production closed down in 1962. Now, as it shifted industries, it houses something even more precious… you, your lover, and love.
If a silver mine suite is a bit too rustic for you, you might want to check out the bridal suite at the Sandton Kura Hulanda Hotel & Spa in Curacao. Flounce down onto the ornate, hand-hammered sterling-silver four-poster bed that Jacob Gelt Dekker, the hotel founder, found it a trip to the Middle and Far East.
When Scheherazade told the king of Persia about a palace in the sky called Jaisalmer in her One Thousand and One Nights stories, he became irreversibly besotted with her.
In the middle of an Indian desert, about 575 kilometers west of the Rajasthan state capital of Jaipur, a medieval mud fortress surrounds the town. The palace and the ornate Jain temples sparkle.
Jaisalmer is also called "The Golden City" because of the abundance of yellow sandstone, which looks like gold in the sunshine. It’s no wonder it attracts artists, musicians, dancers and artisans -- another perk for you.
You just might start telling your own cliffhanger stories here and end up in a happily ever after situation too!
