THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PASSION PLACE
FREGATE ISLAND PRIVATE
If you are passionate about natural beauty and conservation -- and if you have a passionate romance that needs some time and space to recharge, Fregate Island Private is quietly waiting for you. It’s a first class hideaway!
“Disappear from the world in our conservation sanctuary surrounded by sapphire seas,” the island beckons. It is a unique jewel set off the coast of East Africa, in the Seychelles.
The luxury resort, true to its name, is on a totally private island. It spans just 3 square kilometers, home to only 16 secluded villas, each set amidst lush tropical jungle, each with an infinity pool that spills into the azure horizon.
Fregate Island Private boasts 7 gorgeous secluded beaches, each with its own character. They are so private, yours might be the only footprints in the sand!
Anse Victorin has been repeatedly voted the “most beautiful beach in the world” by The Times. That’s quite an accolade. And it’s well-deserved.
Marina Beach is protected by a coral reef and always calm. Anse Park beach offers a jungle trail, where you walk past giant tortoises heading to their mud bath.
Bamboo Beach is the party beach, with boogie boards and a beach bar for when you need to remember that you’re not completely wild animals. Grand Anse Fregate’s wildest beach -- you reach it at the end of a thick jungle trail. It’s a perfect place to sip cocktails and watch the sunset with your passion partner.
Beyond the beauty of its natural landscape and seascape, Fregate Island Private rocks some exceptional wild beauty. It is like a mini Galapagos! The island broke off from the former supercontinent Gondwana, about 180 million years ago, isolating many rare and exotic species, just as the isolation of the Galapagos caused its own unique evolutionary path.
Rare Giant Aldabra Tortoises roam freely. While they were once almost extinct these tortoises were bred from a population of just 150 about 25 years ago. Now, there are about 3,000, living on Fregate.
The sandy beaches of Fregate Island provide a vital nesting habitat for two critically endangered species of sea turtles: the Hawksbill Turtle and the Green Turtle. The Seychelles remain one of the few places on Earth where sea turtles come ashore to nest during the daytime.
Fregate Island Private is a little piece of heaven for birds too. Hundreds of thousands of Tropical Birds, enjoy this place, including more than 100 Species. Conservationists here have saved the endemic Seychelles Magpie Robin, Seychelles White Eye, and Seychelles Warbler, from extinction. Near-extinct Fregates, the birds for whom the island is named, have also started to return.
It is a thrill to experience the sight of large flocks of beautiful indigenous Fairy Terns and Noddies as they glide through the warm air over the turquoise waters looking for fish -- and there are plenty of those around Fregate Island! Exotic fish swarm the, coral reefs. Whales, dolphins and giant mantas can be seen close to shore.
Beside the fabulous fauna, Fregate Island Private has been heavily invested in the rehabilitation of indigenous forest, planting tens of thousands of trees, after 200 years of agricultural plundering. The island nursery started these efforts 30 years ago, by regrowing rare and almost extinct species.
Many indigenous species have been planted across the island, including the mighty Takamaka tree – a national icon, the rare and beautifully scented Wright’s Gardenia, and the Indian Mulberry, a favorite Giant Tortoise snack.
With hiking routes all over the island, everywhere you walk, you’ll find another beautiful thing! Or go island hopping on any of the four sports boats or the flotilla of hobie cats at Fregate’s own Yacht Club.
Scuba dive by day or night at Fregate’s private PADI Dive Center. Their dive masters know all the best spots to see the most beautiful undersea life. And they offer PADI certified diving courses for all levels.
If you wish to sample an authentic taste of Seychellois lifestyle, local fishermen will be pleased to take you out.
When it’s time to just chill, your Personal Assistant will be there to greet you with refreshing cool towels and iced drinks. You personal masseuse it standing by.
When you’re ready to sip a cocktail and dine, you’ll find that about 80% of Fregate’s food comes right from the island itself. Their plantation gardens and hydroponics house offer a fantastic variety of fruits and vegetables, from the tropics and other regions. They grow more than 50 different types of organic fruits and vegetables which they serve to guests.
And, if you want a bit more company, for a wedding or other event, -- or if you and the object of your romantic passion want to really stretch and and live in your very own world, whole island rental available!
