THE ART OF KINDNESS NOW
ART OF KINDNESS
Art is kindness for the soul and spirit. It expands and enriches expression. It deepens our understanding. It broadens our view. It lifts our humanity. Whether we like a work of art or not, whether its subject matter is “beautiful” or not, it can unlock emotion -- it can inspire us.
Kindness is also an art, in and of itself. It requires soul and spirit. It expands both giver and receiver. The art of kindness and the kindness of art is the focus of a new platform, Art of Kindness, which bridges the worlds of art, philanthropy, and social impact.
Art of Kindness curates a socially conscious art collective experience, connecting artists, collectors, and communities in need around the world.
A portion of the sales proceeds from every artwork donated to social projects with a range of non-profit social impact partners across a range of sectors, including Elephant Family, Charity:Water, Micrograam, Project Pressure, and Acumen. Further partners will be sought as the Art of Kindness platform grows.
The Art of Kindness launched this past week with an inaugural exhibition at White Space, Leicester Square, in London. It is the first of an ongoing series of roving exhibitions that will touch communities around the world.
The exhibitions are multi-media experiences that, in addition to the physical art works, include digital screens and virtual reality. They relay stories about both the artists and people impacted by the social programs, connected shared resources and benefits, philanthropy and art.
Many of the Art of Kindness artists originally come from developing countries.
The White Space exhibition includes artworks by Dawn Csutoros (Australia), Rita GT / E-Studio Luanda (Angola/Portugal), Revati Sharma Singh (India/UK), Natvar Bhavsar (India/USA), Ronald Patrick, Petroc Sesti (UK), Doug Patterson (UK), Seema Kohli (India), Brinda Miller (India, and Klaus Thymann (Denmark/UK).
A social impact story is embedded in each artwork, creating a foundation for a kindness legacy.
When you purchase an artwork through Art of Kindness, you will be able to track its kindness impact.
Art of Kindness founder Devika Sarin and her sister, creative director Maya Sarin, believe that creativity, and the desire to express yourself, comes from a kind place.
“When you share your voice and vision with others, you expose parts of yourself for others to accept or reject,” Devika explains. “And when we admire a piece of art and acknowledge its beauty and value, then we are reinforcing this kindness. To us, this means that art is a reflection of kindness.”
