DRINK IN BEAUTIFUL SHADOWS: LEMONADE IN THE SHADE

Got summer? Got shade? You need some beautiful lemonade! It’s the perfect drink to cool down your hot summer days and nights. Check out the BN curated-for-beauty collection of extra-special lemonades, with recipes, including the famous one from Beyoncé, below.

BEYONCÉ LEMONADE

While most people focused on the gossip and the music when Beyoncé released her new “Lemonade,” album, we paid attention to her lemonade recipe. She tells us how her grandmother made it. Check it out below.

BOHEMIAN WILDFLOWER LEMONADE WITH DANDELIONS & VIOLETS

Bohemian Wildflower Lemonade with Dandelions & Violets, by Bradleigh Huizinga, of Wide Meadow, is a gorgeous rendition, perfect for sipping in a meadow under the shade of a broad leafy tree. Huizinga developed the recipe recently to make good use of her lawn - full of wildflowers in the spring.

Violets have twice the Vitamin C of oranges and twice the Vitamin A of spinach. They can lower blood pressure and ease pain.

Dandelions add Vitamins A, C, E, and K, as well as calcium, magnesium, iron and potassium.

THYME LEMONADE

Thyme Lemonade, by Michelle Lopez, of Hummingbird High, began as a way to use up the beautiful bounty from a backyard lemon tree.

We like to add a splash of gin or vodka.

STRAWBERRY & MINT ROSÉ LEMONADE

Strawberry & Mint Rosé Lemonade, by Natalie Migliarini, of Beautiful Booze, marries a few lemon mates, like strawberries and mint, with an unlikely contributor, rosé wine. Think of it as a lemony berry pink sangria. It’s lovely for a summer brunch or sunset cocktail.

APEROL & LEMONADE POPSICLES WITH EDIBLE FLOWERS

Aperol & Lemonade Popsicles with Edible Flowers, by Natalie Migliarini, of Beautiful Booze, are the perfect way to chill out in the shade of a hot summer afternoon or evening.

We love the exquisite pinkish orange blush, layered with petals. And they taste divine… like summer on a stick!

COTSWOLDS LAVENDER LEMONADE & GIN FIZZ

Cotswolds Lavender Lemonade Gin Fizz, by Diz White, showcases gorgeous local-to-Cotswolds ingredients, including fresh local lavender and Cotswolds honey. But if you don’t happen to be close to this beautiful English countryside, you can still produce spectacular results with the lavenders and honeys that are local to you.
