CAPTURING NATURE: NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC 2012 CONTEST WINNERS

National Geographic recently announced their nature winners for their 2012 photo contest and the resulting gallery is stunning. The legendary contest gathers thousands of photographs from amateur and professional photographers from all walks of life. The portrait subjects are just as vast. They vary from the monochromatic beauty of a glistening iceberg to winner Ashley Vincent’s dreamy shot of an Indochinese Tigress shaking water off of her magnificent coat, pictured above. One thing they certainly all have in common though: they all gave us goosebumps.
