“White Witch Moth,” by Cig Harvey, is a photograph from her latest body of work, “Gardening at Night.” Playing opposites of color against blacks & whites, with soft lighting, the giant white witch moth looks surreal held in purple tipped fingers.

“Crumple 22,” by Rutherford Witthus, one of a series of works in which Japanese paper is the muse. Crumpled, folded, inked, and torn, the papers featured seem, in many ways, opposite of what we know of paper.

9. WHITE LINE -- KLAUS LEIDORF

“White Line,” by Klaus Leidorf, is a beautiful aerial landscape photo that confuses the eye. Are we looking at spring? White trees look snow covered, at first blush, but further inspection shows they are clad in spring blossoms. They, along with the primary red car, play opposite a complementary verdant field.

“Cloud Horse” by Benjamin Heller, shows the power of black & white in the form of an appaloosa horse, as it rears against a cloud dotted sky. The large, white markings on the horsehide emulate the clouds in the backdrop.
