BEAUTIFUL MIGRATION BLUES

As we enjoy the Great Migrations, moving through Tanzania, we are checking out a beautiful gemstone found only here and nowhere else in the world. It was originally discovered by Masai shepherds who found a piece gleaming up at them from the grassy plains.

TANZANITE

It is the bluer than blue Tanzanite. Actually, Tanzanites range in color from light blue to deep ultramarine, with the most prized specimens being violet blue. Due to the mineral’s highly developed polychromaticity, it can flash different colors when viewed from different angles.
