This article is intended to be a guide for photographing leaves at their best; and it includes some very useful tips to get your leaf photography up to speed.

“For an inspired photographer; leaves are a very interesting subject, as they come in such intricate and diverse patterns. 27 AUTUMN PHOTO PROJECTS - EPHOTOZINE
Ephotozine has 27 photography projects to try this Autumn. With some classic shoots, like wide-angle landscape shots, to single trees, to a single leaf, there are many ways to capture autumn’s leafy glory.
This guide also includes ideas about abstract photos, filters, and reflections.
And there are more creative suggestions, like working with dew-beaded spider webs, frost-edged leaves, children playing in leaves, catching the wind as it tosses the leaves airborne, and getting an “ant’s eye-view.”
How about looking upwards to capture the trees’ canopies with a wide-angle lens or playing with backlight, or taking advantage of low sunbeams and low-hanging fog?
Ephotozine also has more technical tips about image stacking, hyperfocus, and time lapse photos.
Photographer David Clapp, who writes extensively for EPhotozine share his wisdom. Plus check out his photo tours with Light & Land.
