THE JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE NATURAL MACHINE

Our brains are organic machines. They convert inputs (stimuli) to outputs (actions, cognition, and memories). They define the world as we experience it.

As humans have evolved, our brains have evolved in part as a result of the tools we have used -- tools including everything from the wheel to the supercomputer.

The Journey to the Center of the Natural Machine, directed by Daniella Segal, Daniel Lazo, Eran May-Raz, & Charles Niu, takes us on a journey via a Meta augmented reality headset, starting with the earliest days of human brain development through our development of higher level thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration capabilities.

Meta began the advancement of the AR marketplace with the first see-through glasses that enabled users to use natural hand interactions to intuitively move and manipulate 3-D content.

“This new paradigm—based on established neural interface principles and designed to adjust to each user’s individual computing experience—promises to enhance and improve individual and group work productivity in ways never before imagined.”

THE SKY IS A GAP

The Sky Is a Gap, is a VR art installation created by Rachel Rossin, that manifests in both the physical and virtual realms. It enables you to precisely move time with space through the use of a custom made, positionally tracked headset.

The installation depicts a pyroclastic explosion inspired by Zabriskie Point, that is physically mapped to your forward and backward movement as you experience the work.
