10 BEAUTIFUL PLACES ARE NOW LAUNCHED & WAITING FOR YOU
We have curated a collection of beautiful destinations that have recently launched, or relaunched, so you can be among the first to check out their amazing glory.
1. SRI LANKA
After decades of unrest, including human rights violations and violence, Sri Lanka is stabilizing and calming down. The tourism industry in Sri Lanka is finally ready for launch.
With beautiful new hotels, luxury tents, and yoga retreats, you can enjoy the beaches, lakes, and jungles of this beautiful South Asian island in beautiful style.
The beautiful and spacious 40-room hotel Cape Weligama overlooks the gorgeous Indian Ocean. A new boutique hotel called TRI is slated to open on the banks of Lake Koggala, complete with a treetop yoga studio and a cantilevered pool, for ultimate relaxation.
A beachside hotel, the Wild Coast Lodge, will debut this fall in Yala National Park. It will offer 28 luxury tent accommodations and an Ayurvedic spa.
2. CUBA
The island of Cuba, which has long been a forbidden destination for Americans, may soon be their newest tropical hotspot.
Travel restrictions that were created during the Cold War are currently being lifted. Right now, Americans can only visit Cuba if they have a “purpose”, not simply for a vacation.
But, soon Americans will be able to enjoy this shimmering Caribbean coastline, the rich artistic culture of Havana, and the undeveloped natural beauty that abounds in Cuba. We are witnessing a historic moment, as socialism falls and capitalism changes the Cuban economy.
The perfect chance to visit this beautiful island is at the 12th Havana Biennial. This world-famous art show will take place from May 22 to June 22 this year. And, we are so excited to tell you that we, at BeautifulNow, will be there! Stay tuned for reports back from Beautiful Cuba!
3. BOLIVIA
Despite its political and social challenges of the past, Bolivia is now a stable country, and it is launching many exciting new programs for tourists. You will want to explore this beautiful landscape and more!
Who knew Bolivia would be a culinary destination worth tasting? Claus Meyer, owner of the famous restaurant Gustu and founder of the Melting Pot Foundation, has created an official street food tour in La Paz called Suma Phayata. There are also high-altitude wine tours in the Tarija region.
You can find adventure on a tented camping trip, led by Explora across the world’s largest salt flats, Salar de Uyuni. You can also find community tours of coffee farms in the Yungas region.
Whether you’re visiting Bolivia to find adventure or delicious food, you will be amazed at the beauty this country has to offer.
4. FAROE ISLANDS
The Faroe Islands are beautifully secluded. They are an autonomous part of Denmark, located in the North Atlantic, only a short plane ride away from Copenhagen and Reykjavik.
Now, the Faroe Islands are launching themselves as a hub of exotic cuisine. It is the newest home to the New, New, New Nordic cuisine.
Their most famous local dish is raest, a fermented mutton dish. You can pair this dish with fascinating local cheeses. You’ll also want to visit Okkara, a famous brewery.
If you want a more avant-garde meal, try Koks, which serves locally sourced modern cuisine. Another delicious choice is Aarstova, a French restaurant that also uses only local ingredients.
There is a new fish house, Barbara, which serves only the yearly catch of delectable Faroe Bank cod. Or you can grab some artistic-looking sushi at Etika.
You can’t go wrong at any of the Faroe Islands’ famous restaurants. Your food will always be delicious, authentic, and beautifully presented.
5. ST VINCENT & THE GRENADINES
St. Vincent and the Grenadines is launching the $240 million Argyle International Airport this year. This is their largest development project ever undertaken.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines is a 32-island nation, located between St. Lucia and Grenada. It is a popular travel destination for scuba diving and snorkeling.
Argyle International Airport will offer nonstop jet service from North America and Europe to St. Vincent and the Grenadines. This service will make it easy for tourists to visit this beautiful country.
The islands also tout a new dive center, run by marine conservationist Jean-Michel Cousteau. There are plans to build a marine preserve nearby.
The new airport being planned on St. Vincent and the Grenadines will relaunch its reputation. It will now become an easily accessible tropical paradise.
6. OMAN
Oman is a country full of unspoiled natural beauty, with staggering mountain peaks, stunning coastlines, and paradisical wadis, or ravines.
The country is relaunching itself in efforts to compete with Dubai and Abu Dhabi as a tourist destination. New luxury hotels are popping up right and left.
Alila Jabal Akhdar recently opened amidst a mountainscape. Anantara is planning the construction of two resorts in Jabal Akhdar and on the Dhofar coast. Radisson Blu is being built in Sohar, a northern historic port.
Familiar names like Four Seasons, W, Kempinski, Fairmont, and Aman are reportedly planning expansions in Oman as well.
7. CALAKMUL, CAMPECHE, MÉXICO
While it was once the most powerful Mayan city in México, Calakmul is now relatively unknown. It has relaunched as a beautiful destination, where you can visit ancient Mayan ruins without the huge throngs of tourists you’ll find at the more famous places.
Calakmul is located in Campeche, which is in the southern region of the Yucatán Peninsula. This area is known for its dense forests and Mayan ruins.
Just last year, UNESCO recognized 1,280 square miles of tropical forest surrounding Calakmul as a World Heritage Site along with the ancient ruins. This mix of jungle and ruins makes Calakmul the first “mixed” property on Mexico’s World Heritage List, recognized for having both natural and cultural value.
8. PAPUA NEW GUINEA
Papua New Guinea has just launched itself as a new international cruise and diving hub.
Eco-lodges are also cropping up in remote areas throughout Papua New Guinea. Lake Murray Lodge, for example, is situated on the country’s largest lake, and is a beautiful place to birdwatch.
9. BAKU, AZERBAIJAN
The recent oil boom in Baku, Azerbaijan has meant beautiful things for the city’s architecture. And Baku is relaunching itself as a luxuriously modern city center, modeling after Dubai.
The center of Baku is a UNESCO-protected. Extravagant buildings are being constructed around the city center.
One of the most beautiful additions to Baku’s skyline is the Flame Towers, three skyscrapers that are shaped like tongues and stand at a massive 600 feet high. One houses a Fairmont Hotel.
The Heydar Aliyev Center, designed by Zaha Hadid, is a white wavy-looking building. Luxury hotels have also been constructed, including the Four Seasons, Hilton, and Kempinski.
This summer, the Trump International Hotel & Tower Baku will be completed. It will stand at 33 floors and is designed to look like boat sails. It is being built just in time for the first European Games this June.
10. KAS, TURKEY
Kas, Turkey is a pristinely preserved old fishing village that has recently launched itself as a destination for tourists who want an authentic Mediterranean vacation by the sea, but who want something different.
Kas is bordered by less appealing destinations, making it a hidden gem. Greece is in economic shambles, while nearby island Kalkan is full of hard-partying British tourists. But Kas’ pure, natural beauty and hippie vibe make it the perfect island to chill.
Dive in the gorgeous blue waters, listen to local musicians play jazz by the waterfront, and visit the nearby Lycian cities of Patara and Xanthos.
