FLOATING SEAHORSE
Float your life in beauty -- WIth the Arabian Sea as your personal pool! Recently launched, the ‘Floating Seahorse’ is the 1st underwater villa ever built on the planet.
Positioned 4km off the coast of Dubai, this villa is the 1st of 131 super-luxury villas, designed by the Kleindienst Group as part of The World, a manmade archipelago off Dubai's coast, in the shape of Earth's continents.
This is underwater living at its best. These floating villas are essentially boats without propulsion. Rather, they have their own stationary piece of real estate, a designated patch of ocean in the Arabian Gulf.
Each villa is designed with 3 levels:
- Underwater: Submerged master bedroom & bathroom suite
- Sea Level: Living area, kitchen, dining
- Upper Deck: Sun & stars deck, mini-bar, Glass-bottomed Jacuzzi
The master suite commands breathtaking underwater views of the surrounding coral reef and marine life.
The sea level is outfitted with floor to ceiling windows for uninterrupted sea views. The fully-fitted kitchen, dining area, and open plan living area have glass façades that opens so the sun deck becomes an extension of the living space.
The upper deck offers views of the sea and Dubai's skyline, with alfresco dining, an informal bed, a mini bar, a kitchenette and a beautiful glass-bottomed Jacuzzi. It can become a winter suite by closing the retractable drapes.
If you don’t want to totally disconnect while you’re floating, there’s Wi-Fi, a television, and a butler service for each villa.
The Villas will be part of the group's work on The Heart of Europe—a section of The World that includes "European" islands, with names like Germany, Switzerland, & St. Petersburg. Each has a climate-controlled environment, including some with snow-lined streets, even as the rest of Dubai swelters.
While some might take issue with environmental impact of making snow in the desert, the Kleindienst Group cares a lot about the health of watery community that The Floating Seahorse is joining. Everything is designed to leave the condition of this big blue pool on our beautiful blue & green planet in far better condition than when the development began.
One initiative aims to help restore health to endangered sea horse species. The Floating Seahorse is creating an artificial coral reef beneath their luxury retreats, offering a protected area in which seahorses can safely live and breed.
The villas are designed and manufactured on a dry dock in Dubai Maritime City. The first phase of the project, 42 villas—already sold out—will be completed by the end of 2016. All 131 are slated to be built by 2018.
