THE BEAUTY OF VIRTUAL SPRING NOW

Spring has sprung! And while we are anxious to dive into all of its glories in the natural world, we’ve become intrigued with the new tech expression of spring, by artist Miguel Chevalier.

To celebrate spring’s arrival, Chevalier, a pioneer in digital art, created 3 new projection mapping installations at the Jing An Kerry Centre next to Chairman Mao’s house, in Shanghai.

Bursting with color and light, virtual flowers bloom and glow on the building’s exterior plaza, tunnel, and glass bridges.

The center square is transformed into a virtual meadow with “Digital Water Lillies,” a mapping project that activates after sunset. African lilies, orchids, camellias, and peach tree flowers appear and morph underfoot as you walk.

The tunnel installation is a 360-degree interactive experience entitled “Trans-Natures.” Immerse amid the vibrant virtual flowered wall frescoes and flower beds.

The Centre’s glass bridges were turned into virtual stained glass, creating psychedelic shadows and reflections.

Chevalier reinvents nature exploring recurrent themes such as botanica, artifice, flows, networks, virtual cities, and ornate designs.
