TRISTAN SHU
Tristan Shu is intense. He focuses his awesome talent on the intensity of athletes, taking some of the most powerful action/sport photographs we’ve ever seen.
Shu is an extreme athlete, himself -- an avid mountain biker, paraglider and skier, which helps him not only get great access to the best shots, but also helps him to really feel the photos he takes.
It also helps that home base is in the French Alps, where he has access to the creme de la creme of both extreme athletes and awe inspiring landscapes.
Paris-born Tristan Lebeschu, now known as Shu, has only been a pro photographer for just over 9 years now. It’s remarkable that he’s reached such a pinnacle in such a short time.
Shu is a dynamo -- with loads of personal energy that comes through in his shots, along with that of his subject. And he has a passion for the outdoors, just as his subjects do.
The photos go way beyond “action shots” -- they tell stories. There are concepts behind each one.
Snowboarding photographers, such as Cole Barash, Scott Serfas, Oli Gagnon, Matt George, and Jerome Tanon, had a major influence on Shu’s mindset. Shu’s work has been featured in National Geographic and GQ. Adidas, The North Face, Quiksilver, Vacheron-Constantin, ESPN, and X Games are among his commercial clients.
