Husbands Michael and Darroch Putnam team up at Putnam & Putnam Flowers, a boutique floral design company that creates some of the most opulent, creative arrangements. Mike, whose background is in interior design, found a particular passion for working with flowers.

2. L. BECKER FLOWERS

If you want to add an extra gift to your gift of flowers, L. Becker Flowers, co-owned by Larry Becker and Roger Crowley, offers his made-to-order arrangements in gorgeous antique vessels. Sometimes they are group with curated antique objets.

Becker might loosely arrange flowers, such as Rare Orange Gloriosa Rothschildiana Lilies, a perfectly paired “vase,” such as an 18th-century French blown-glass lace-maker's water lens.”

3. MCQUEENS

Founded by Kally Ellis, McQueens, arrangements are known for their meticulous shapes, with neat bundles of flawless blooms.

Ellis was a marketing executive for a bank in her first career. But the loss of a dear friend, and the flower bouquet she bought in tribute, sparked a new passion for floral design. She literally had a dream about becoming a florist.

She began in a small rundown shop in Shoreditch, and in 25 years, built it into a major business. She recently commissioned a vase, designed by Kathryn Sherriff to commemorate McQueens’ 25 year anniversary.

Ellis is a beautiful mother as well. Her children often accompanied her at the shop from the time they were babies.

McQueens’ commercial clients include Claridge’s, Mulberry and Moët & Chandon. They’ve also provided flowers for the Vanity Fair post-Oscars party and a host of Hollywood celebrities.
